zoe tulip miller

Having Tulip as a middle name is something most people would think was weird. Zoe, on the other hand, thinks it's perfect and completely fitting and loves her middle name. Her only qualm about it is that sometimes she wishes it had been her first name; and believe her, her parents thought about it long and hard. They were fairly intelligent people, though, and realized that giving their little girl the name of a flower wouldn't bode so well when she went to school and was trying to get a real job, if she so wanted. Why she would want something like that, they couldn't fathom, but they were going to leave that up to her as she got older.

Zoe was born to two hippies in the mid 80's, so all three of them were out of place. Most people thought hippies were a thing of the past, a distant memory from ten years prior. And a baby was the last thing on their minds, but as most things in life, they embraced her with open arms and raised her the best they knew. Up until Zoe was a junior in high school, she was homeschooled, going with her parents wherever her dad was sent. It was a lot of fun growing up in a bus and hotel rooms, and even though they weren't rich, Zoe never really wanted for much. She didn't have a whole lot of interest in toys and material things, instead making friends with hotel staff and roadies, helping out where she could when she was old enough, singing along to those Metallica songs backstage or in the crowd. The guys one met at Metallica tribute shows weren't the kind you'd wanna bring home to mom, but for the few years before she finally settled in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, with a family friend, she certainly had her fun with them.

It was her own decision to move in with her godmother in Philly, Zoe was ready to stay in one place for awhile, and she wanted to be around people and make friends with people her own age, people she would be around for awhile. That change didn't change her, thankfully, she still kept her wild spirit and her freedom. She was glad to be in one place, though, she was able to get a job and go out and party and do all the things normal teenagers did. Dating was finally possible, instead of just sleeping with skeezy guys she met in bars she wasn't even close to old enough to be in, and it was something fun. When she turned 18, her godmother and the family she was living with moved to Chapel Hill for a job relocation, and it just so happened to be the same place where a few people she knew were going to college. When they moved, she got a job as a maid at a hotel, which isn't the most glamorous or amazing job, but it pays damn well and it allows her to have extra money. Her parents are helping out with school, paying the tuition itself but Zoe has to pay for room and board and all of the extras, so she's not exactly rolling in dough despite also working full time at the hotel. It would probably be easier to live at home, but the commute is killer and she figured if she was gonna do the whole college thing she was gonna do it right.

- Zoe has three pets. 2 chinchillas, named Lars and James, and a rabbit named Tru. Yeah, she sort of inherited her father's love for Metallica. It kills her to have to have left them with her godmother, and she goes to her house and visits them every weekend.
- Controlling her temper has never been her forte, and it doesn't really get any easier as she gets older. When she was younger, people jokingly called her hotheaded, in reference to her hair, but it rings true today.
- High school was surprisingly easy for Zoe to adjust to, considering it was her first time in a real school environment. Always an excellent people pleaser, Zoe is a prime kiss up and knew exactly what to say to get on everybody's good side, even if her homework didn't always get turned in on time.
- Dating was never something Zoe was very good at, her attention changed too often and she never knew what she wanted, anyways. The single exception to that over the years has been Nikolai, even though their relationship (or lack thereof) is similar to her temper; hot and cold. They fight, they hate each other, they make up, and it all starts over again. Currently, they're actually sort of dating, although the whole labels thing isn't really for them.
- College is sort of on Zoe's agenda. She just started full time at UNC, even though she's already 21 and still has no idea what she's doing with her life. Recent events led to her enrolling full time and moving into the dorms, she had been taking a few night classes at a time for the past few years.
- There's a lot about Zoe that nobody knows. She just recently started going to a therapist again, due to a diagnosis of manic depression when she was 13. Being medicated (except by her own choice) isn't something that really excites her, but the medication she's prescribed actually helps her, so she also recently decided to start taking it again, which helps manage her temper a bit.
